DRAWBRIDGE:
MAKE A FLIPBOOK

    1. Print the WORKSHEET.
    2. You'll cut along the lines, but first locate the left margin of each picture (where the numbers are). Don't cut that off. It's where your thumb and forefinger will hold onto the book.
    3. Arrange the pictures in order from 1 to 12. Make sure the right edges line up. Fasten together with two staples in the left margin.
    4. Flip the pages quickly. The drawbridge will open for the boat to go through, then close again.

FIND THE SHAPES

  1. Print the WORKSHEET.
  2. Search for shapes in this city scene.
    Find at least 10 squares.
    Find at least 10 rectangles.
    Find at least 12 triangles.
    Find at least 20 circles.

DIG FOR GEMS:
MAKE JEWELRY

  1. Print the WORKSHEET.
  2. Gather up yarn, pipe cleaners, tape, scissors, hole punch, colored paper, glitter, and glue.
  3. Trace the shapes on colored paper. Cut and glitter them.

 

MAKE A TIMELINE

  1. Print the WORKSHEET twice.
  2. Tape the sheets together to make one long timeline.
  3. Starting at the far left vertical line, write the date you were born.
  4. On each following vertical line, write other important dates and events in your life so far in the order in which they happened.  For example, the day you took your first step!  Your first airplane ride!
  5. Illustrate your timeline with photos or your own drawings.
